North Scottsdale real estate refers to a very large area in Maricopa County and consists of numerous communities therefore people tend to breakup the area differently.  We will refer to the area east of N Scottsdale Rd, south of Jomax, west of the McDowell Mountains and north of Bell (including the McDowell Mountain community south of Bell) as North Scottsdale Area 1.

North Scottsdale 1 real estate offers a variety of neighborhoods, from smaller communities that offer starter homes, to exclusive guard gated communities with multi-million dollar luxury estates.  Some of the more popular communities include Grayhawk, Pinnacle Peak, DC Ranch, Troon and McDowell Mountain.  All forms of housing options can be found, from apartments, condominiums, town homes, semi-custom homes, custom homes and undeveloped home-sites.  Both single-level and multi-level homes are available with gated or non-gated options.  There are many homes with mountain, desert or city views, as well as many homes on golf lots.

The area is great for families and those who enjoy an active lifestyle.  There are many parks in the area, like the 29-acre Thompson Peak Park and the 13-acre Grayhawk Park, with tennis courts, basketball courts and playgrounds.  Also, many of the neighborhoods have private community parks, community pools or community clubhouses with pools, tennis courts and much more.  There are many multi-use trails for people to take a stroll with their furry friends, as well as many places to hike, mountain bike and horse back ride since the McDowell Sonoran Preserve, Pinnacle Peak and Troon Mountains are all nearby.  For those who enjoy golfing, there are many golf courses to play on, like the courses offered at Grayhawk Golf Club, TPC Scottsdale, Troon Golf Club and McDowell Mountain Golf Club, just to name a few.
